2Gether Motor Breakdown was found on one simple principle. To provide affordable, quality breakdown cover, without compromising on service.
Since 2011, when we set ourselves the above challenge, we have gone on to become one of the UK's leading providers. We are in a unique position within the breakdown market in that we are wholly independent, which allows us to be more competitive and more flexible in the cover we offer. It is this independence that has enabled us to fulfill our original objective.
Each year we deal with thousands of motor breakdowns covering numerous different scenarios and situations. Because of this, our team has vast experience and knowledge, making sure you always get the service you expect. Breakdown and Recovery

Who Is Covered?

With all of our policies it is the vehicle(s) that are covered, not the driver. This means that in the event of a breakdown it doesn't matter who is driving the vehicle. As long as the vehicle is covered then the driver can call upon our service.

Homestart

With our Full UK and Full UK & EU covers homestart is included as standard. This means that if your vehicle fails to start at the home address we will attend to you to try and repair the vehicle where possible. In the event of this not being possible, we will recover the vehicle to the nearest suitable garage, to affect a repair.

Roadside Breakdown

In the event your vehicle breaks down at the roadside, call our UK based 24 hour recovery team, who will be able to assist. Foremost we will look to attempt to repair your vehicle to allow you to continue your journey. If this is not possible however we will arrange recovery of your vehicle to the nearest suitable garage to affect the repair. Failing this, where our Full UK or Full UK & EU covers have been purchased, we will arrange for you, the vehicle and up to 4 passengers to be taken to either your home address or original destination. Where our Economy cover has been purchased, we will recover you to a destination of your choice within 25 miles of the site of the breakdown.

Parts and Labour

Whilst all of our policies allow for up to 1 hour of roadside assistance where required, any labour in addition to this, or any parts required (whether at the roadside or once recovered to a garage) are not covered within the policy and the cost of these resides with the policyholder.

Hire Car & Onward Travel

In the event of your vehicle not being repairable at the roadside, it is recovered to a garage and the quotes time frame for repairs is going to be longer than what we deem reasonable, we will pay the cost of either a hire car (maximum of £50.00) or alternative onward travel, allowing you and up to 4 passengers to either return home or continue your journey. Either option will also provide a single standard rail ticket allowing you to collect the vehicle upon completion of repair. Both options are operated on a reimbursement basis, with a receipt of proof required to be submitted to 2Gether Insurance for any valid claim, and has to be sanctioned by one of our operative in the initial instance.

Overnight Accommodation

If your circumstances dictate we may decide to provide overnight accommodation. This, where permitted by one of our operatives, entitles you to claim back the cost of one night's hotel accommodation for you and up to 4 passengers, up to the maximum of £40.00 per individual (excluding food and drink). This is operated on a reimbursement basis, with a receipt of proof required to be submitted to 2Gether Insurance, for any valid claim.

Attendance Time

Our target attendance time is 60 minutes. However this may vary due to unforeseen circumstances or if you are travelling in Europe.

Repatriation

As with our Full UK cover, we will look to repair your vehicle at the roadside where possible as to allow you to continue your journey, when travelling in Europe. In addition to the benefits listed within your cover we may offer alternative options to inconvenience you as little as possible, one of which may be to recover you, your vehicle and up to 4 passengers back to the UK, subject the the maximum claim allowance permitted within the policy.

Cover Levels

Economy Cover

Our Economy cover provides the following:

  • Up to 4 call outs per policy term
  • No call out charge, and unlike other providers, there is nothing to pay at the roadside to claim on reimbursement. The price you are quoted is the price you will pay for the year
  • Up to 1 hour of roadside assistance
  • Recovery to a garage local to the scene of the breakdown which is within a 25 mile radius
  • Free accident management cover

Full UK Cover

Our Full UK cover provides the following:

  • Up to 6 call outs per policy term
  • No call out charge, and unlike other providers, there is nothing to pay at the roadside to claim on reimbursement. The price you are quoted is the price you will pay for the year
  • Up to 1 hour of roadside assistance
  • Homestart if your vehicle fails to start at the home address
  • Recovery to a garage, your home address or destination, if a roadside repair is not possible
  • Overnight accommodation, hire car or onward transportation, if your vehicle cannot be repaired at a garage within a reasonable amount of time
  • Free accident management cover

Full UK & EU Cover

Our Full UK & EU cover provides the following:

  • Up to 6 call outs per policy term
  • No call out charge, and unlike other providers, there is nothing to pay at the roadside to claim on reimbursement. The price you are quoted is the price you will pay for the year
  • Up to 1 hour of roadside assistance
  • Homestart if your vehicle fails to start at the home address
  • Up to 90 days European travel per policy term
  • Recovery to a garage, your home address or destination, if a roadside repair is not possible
  • Overnight accommodation, hire car or onward transportation, if your vehicle cannot be repaired at a garage within a reasonable amount of time, allowing you to carry on your holiday or journey
  • Free accident management cover

Drivers

All of our policies cover the vehicle as opposed to the individual driver, therefore, whoever is driving the vehicle at the time of a breakdown can call upon our service.

Excess

With all of our cover levels, unlike other providers, there is no excess payable, and no reimbursement required for paid roadside assistance.

Callouts

Our Full UK and Full UK & EU policies each allow for up to 6 call outs during the term of the cover with our Economy cover allowing for up to 4 call outs.

Outside Policy Terms

If you suffer a breakdown or incident that is not covered within your policy, we may still be able to assist, however this would be on a pay on use basis with us taking payment over the telephone by credit or debit card at the point of breakdown.

Caravans & Trailers

The levels of cover we offer cover the vehicle in question for breakdown only. However, if you are towing a caravan or trailer at the point of breakdown, the dimensions or which comply with those in the policy wording, this where required will be recovered alongside your vehicle.

If the caravan or trailer develops a fault, resulting in it becoming immobile, we may be able to attend on a paid basis subject to payment by credit or debit card at the point of breakdown.

Fuel

Under our standard policy terms, misfuelling and running out of fuel are not covered, however in the event either situation occurs, we may be able to assist on a pay on use basis subject to taking a creadit or debit card payment over the telephone.

Cancelled Callout

At the point of breakdown one of our operatives will advise you that if you cancel the callout, and a recovery operative has already been dispatched, you will be charged £98.40 accordingly.

Repeat Fault

Should the vehicle be repaired at the roadside with a temporary fix, allowing you to continue your journey, you will be advised to seek immediate attention at a garage for a permanent repair. If you then subsequently breakdown with the perceived fault being related to the original call out, our operative may take credit or debit card details and store on file, until such time that we receive evidence of the original fault having been redressed. In the event of the initial advice having been ignored, or failure to supply evidence when requested, you will be charged for the second call out on the details supplied.

Second Callout

You are only entitled to one call out per fault, so we will not re-attend at any point, other than during the initial call out. If the breakdown occurs at the home address at a time when garages are closed, and the vehicle requires recovery, we may advise you to call for assistance the following day.

Change of Vehicle

Any change of vehicle during the policy term must be notified immediately to ensure continuous cover. In the event of you changing your vehicle during the policy term, the initial 48 hour inception period will be reinstated, before any claim is permitted. If you fail to notify us of any change in vehicle, and the new vehicle suffers a breakdown, cover will not be extended to this.

Age

We employ no age restrictions on the vehicles that we are able to cover. So whether you have a brand new, fresh out of the showroom car, or a 40 year old campervan, we can offer you a quotation.

Multi Vehicle

Whilst our policies offer a discount for multi vehicle, and allow for up to 4 vehicles on one policy, we are able to offer greater discounts for more vehicles. So should you require a policy for more than 4 vehicles please call our sales team on 01945 465508 to discuss.
